Focused, time-limited therapy
Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT)
A structured, relationship-focused therapy that usually takes place over 16 sessions.

About this service
A supportive way to move forward.
Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy, often shortened to DIT, is a focused form of psychodynamic therapy. It is usually offered over 16 sessions and concentrates on how a recurring pattern in relationships may be connected to current emotional difficulties.
Rather than trying to address every part of your history, we agree a clear focus for the work. Together, we explore how this pattern developed, how it appears in your relationships now and what could begin to change. DIT may suit people who want a defined course of therapy or have a limited number of sessions available.

DIT may be helpful if you are experiencing

What to expect
What the 16-session structure involves
- 01
Agree a focus
We identify a central relationship pattern and agree what you would like the therapy to help you understand or change.
- 02
Explore it together
We look at how the pattern appears in current relationships and consider different ways of relating to yourself and others.
- 03
Review and consolidate
Towards the end, we reflect on the changes you have made and how you can carry your learning forward.
